The Reading Group were given The Birthday Surprise to review and I went along to see what they thought of it. These were some of the comments: "each page makes you want to read more", "I liked everything!", "I loved Burly because he was kind".

Chancellor Park Primary School, Chelmsford
I visited Chancellor Park school and spoke to 120 children between ages 7-11 about writing. I had an absolutely brilliant time with them - I've never signed so many autographs! Many than both staff and pupils for making me feel so welcome.

The Born Free Foundation worked with the Clinton Partnership in a project called Tiger Tracks to produce the world’s biggest tiger event at one of the world’s biggest stations over for three weeks in March 2013. There were lots of tiger-related activities and I was very proud to be part of this event. Pat Scullion read The Tiger's Tale to an audience of young children - it was great fun!

I spoke to over 120 children at Our Lady & St George's Primary School in Walthamstow about the Burly & Grum books and the importance of taking care of animals and the environment.

The Paw n Claws Writing Competition starts!
I worked with Vicci and Karina on the creative writing and community art project they created, Imagine In-Print, as part of the Chelmsford Ideas Festival. It was a lot of fun!
28 May was the final deadline for voting for the 'The Secret City' which was a finalist in the Children's section of the People's Book Prize. Thank you everyone for voting but I'm afraid that Burly & Grum didn't win this time. They had a lot of fun though!
I was very pleased to present prizes to the winners of the Paws n Claws Writing Compeition in London! Well done everyone!
